What do you do when you have a whole heap of work to catch up on, haven't written on your blog for days, are way behind on emails etc ......
Well, if you are daft like me, you spend your time today making another one of these:
Actually, it did me the world of good, having started the day really stressed out I am now calm and relaxed, phew.
These are probably my favourite colours of all time, I just love lilacs, mauve, pinks etc.
I used some Kaffe Fassett paprika Paperweight for the roof, the side panels pieces are made with the Bohemian print by Anna Maria Horner and the front, back and base are some plain lilac linen fabric from my stash which I interfaced to give it a bit more crispness.
Note to self: buy a small sized embroidery hoop and embroider the details before you construct the house - I was just kind of in the mood to wing it today and make it up as I went along.
I shall do some more tweaking and then make up a small batch of these to take with me to this event next weekend:
It has been organized by the wonderful Mandy over at Feltbug. There are some fabulous artists and designers taking part, so do pop over to her blog for lots of luscious photos and more information on each exhibitor.
Livvy is away until Sunday so I plan to use my time catching up on that backlog of work but we shall most definitely be joining in the fun at the 3rd Annual Yellow Umbrella Day on Sunday over at Chiswick Business Park, to raise money for three very special children's charities.
The day kicks off with a sponsored 10k run and a 5k sponsored walk - I'm not taking part in either of those but we shall be there to encourage as best we can and enjoy the fantastic party which takes place from 12 noon until 4pm at Chiswick Park. There will be live music throughout the afternoon, including a Commitments tribute band which should make for the usual fantastic party atmosphere.
There will be lots of great activities for children, giant games, a cartoonist, mini golf, bouncy castle, face painters and street performers. In addition there will be a BBQ, posh puds from Annies, one of our great local restaurants plus some superb market stalls - it really is a great day out for everyone, both adults and children alike plus lots and lots of money will be being raised for these three fantastic children's charities:
Offering much needed therapy for children with developmental delay due to cerebal palsy, genetic disorder or brain injury.
This is an inclusive adventure playground which provides exciting and stimulating play opportunities for children and young people aged 4-15 who have special needs or disabilities, in a much needed safe and caring environment.
Shooting Star Children's Hospice
Providing care and support to those children and young people living with life limiting conditions. The support offered to the families of these youngsters is vital and the £2.5m required each year to run the hospice comes solely from voluntary donations and fundraising.
So if you live in London, do try and come along to this fantastic event, you won't be disappointed!
