A couple of weeks ago, I was asked by Enterprise Nation to be part of a panel of home based entrepreneurs at the Home Business Summit at Somerset House so here I am along with my fellow panelists; Love Give Ink Claudi and Fin Cocorose and Swig Flasks - apologies for the grainy photo of me with the mic :)
We all talked about our experience as home based entrepreneurs and were asked to offer one piece of advice for a would be home based entrepreneur. Mine was to make sure you build up a good local support network as building a company can be a very lonely road at times and spending time with other like minded individuals can really help. Here in my home town in Chiswick, we are really lucky that we have all created a wonderful network of small business owners who meet up on a regular basis to swap ideas, share interesting new ventures and collaborations etc. We have a regular monthly tweetup in a local pub which really does help cement these relationships.
The Minister of Enterprise, Matt Hancock, was there to announce new measures from the Government to make it easier for people to set up a business from home - you can read about the new measures here.
We were all somewhat surprised when none other than our Prime Minister, David Cameron walked in and gave a speech!
